10th International Climate Change: The Karst Record (KR10)

The "Climate Change: The Karst Record" (KR) conference series is an international scientific meeting focused on understanding climate change through the study of karst systems such as caves, which provide valuable climate records. The conference brings together experts from a variety of disciplines, including climate science, geology, hydrology, speleology, and environmental science, to discuss the latest research on how karst landscapes and deposits, like speleothems (stalactites and stalagmites), preserve climate data on a scale of decadal to millennial.

The "Climate Change: The Karst Record" (KR) conferences attract a diverse group of participants, including climate scientists, geologists, hydrologists, speleologists, environmental scientists, and ecologists, who focus on understanding climate change through the study of karst systems. Additionally, archaeologists, NGOs, and industry professionals involved in environmental policy, land management, and water resources may attend, making it an interdisciplinary platform for advancing research and collaboration in these areas. As it will be held in the African continent, we intend to promote more participation of African scientists by supporting well-motivated students and early careers from the continent but also from other low-income regions.

KR conferences foster interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange, highlighting advancements in paleoclimatology, geochemistry, and related fields. Attendees primarily include academic researchers but may extend to industry professionals, policymakers, and NGOs who are interested in the implications of climate change on karst environments and water resources. The event serves as a platform for sharing innovative research, discussing new methodologies, and addressing the global impacts of climate change.
