Analyses offered
BIOGRIP aims to be globally competitive and supports its South African university nodes with some of the best instruments available, including those only available in a few places in the world.
BIOGRIP laboratories can analyse a wide range of sample types, including rocks, soil, sludge, water, gases, aerosol, bones, hair and teeth. These samples can be analysed for major, minor and trace elements, minerology, selected stable and radioactive isotopes and microbial composition. This work enables investigations into questions about the formation of life, ancient environments, diets of our ancestors, reuse of waste, remediation of pollution and sustainability of our society.

Data Management Services
The BIOGRIP Hub hosts a dedicated Data Manager who provides technical support to those in need of assistance with data processing, visualisation and curation of their datasets.
Help can be provided across various platforms including Python, MATLAB, QGIS, ArcGIS and others where required. Assistance can take the form of hands-on help—where tasks are carried out directly—or through informal training and guidance to ensure development of BIOGRIP’s users.
